PTFE gaskets

PTFE is a polymer compound formed by polymerization of tetrafluoroethylene. According to its formulation, process, performance and use, the main materials are hard pure PTFE, soft PTFE, modified PTFE, sandwich PTFE and other categories, it has excellent resistance to most mineral and organic chemicals (such as acids, alkalis and solvents), and can be used at about 260°C.

Virgin PTFE

Conventional PTFE gaskets are made using only pure PTFE resin. The surface is flexible and foldable.

PTFE Gasket

Expanded PTFE gasket is a complete gasket. It is used to seal glass and plastic flanges and pressure vessels. It can be used in the petrochemical, food and pharmaceutical industries.

Filled  Gaskets

Filled PTFE gaskets (modified PTFE gaskets) In most cases, PTFE is ideal for a wide range of applications.

PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) is a fluorocarbon-based polymer that is also known by DuPont's brand name, Teflon®, and is often used in its original (unfilled) state.

Unfilled PTFE is the most common form, which is very soft and formable, and is commonly used for chemically resistant seals and gaskets. This grade of PTFE is used for special needs, such as creep resistance under increased load.

Merit:

  •    ● Excellent chemical resistance and resistance
       ● Excellent electrical insulation properties
       ● Low coefficient of friction
       ● Non-adhesive and non-toxic
       ● Good wear resistance and corrosion resistance
       ● Good UV and weather resistance
       ● High allowable operating temperature in air (continuous 260° C)

PTFE Gaskets

纯四氟/Virgin PTFE

Expanded PTFE gasket is a high-performance gasket made of expanded PTFE material with many unique properties and a wide range of applications.

It is obtained by extruding PTFE through a special process. This puffing process gives it a unique microstructure and excellent properties. It is used to seal glass and plastic flanges and pressure vessels. Even under extreme conditions, the material shows very low compressive creep. Most often, expanded PTFE is used in the petrochemical, food and pharmaceutical industries with a temperature range of -240°C to +270'C.

Merit:

   ● Good creep resistance and cold flow resistance

   ● Extremely high chemical resistance

   ● Good temperature resistance

   ● Excellent anti-aging performance and long service life

   ● Easy to cut and easy to install

Filled PTFE

Filled modified PTFE is a high-performance engineering material that has undergone special treatment.

It is based on polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and modified by adding various fillers. There are many types of these fillers, the common ones are glass fiber, carbon fiber, graphite, bronze powder, etc.

The most common fill grades and their enhanced mechanical properties are:

   ● Glass Fiber (PTFE-GF): Add different amounts (5% to 40%) to increase compressive strength, stiffness and wear; Reduced creep and cold flow; Minimal impact on chemical and electrical properties.

   ● Carbon (PTFE-CF): add different amounts (10% to 35%) to increase compressive strength, hardness, wear and load performance; Good chemical resistance; Various types and quantities of carbon can be added to alter the conductivity.

   ● Graphite (PTFE-CGF): added in different amounts (5% to 15%) to reduce the coefficient of friction; Reduction of initial wear; Increase intensity.

   ● Molybdenum disulfide (PTFE-MoS2): added in different amounts (5% to 15%) to increase hardness, stiffness and wear; Minimal impact on chemical and electrical properties.

   ● Metals (PTFE-BR, PTFE-SSF): Optimal wear resistance, significant deformation strength and good thermal conductivity.

   ● Minerals: Adding different amounts of mica (5% to 10%) provides excellent wear resistance and stability in addition to FDA compliance.
