Nitrile rubber (Buna-N) plates are used to die-cut gasket seals

Nitrile rubber (also known as acrylonitrile butadiene rubber, NBR, or nitrile rubber) is a synthetically produced, petroleum-based rubber that is ideal for die-cutting seals, gaskets, and O-rings.
Nitrile rubber is a type of rubber that is very versatile. It is used in a myriad of applications and products, from marine fuel systems to small engine carburetors. Buna-N is one of the most widely used elastomers in seal manufacturing today.

Features and Benefits:
One of the most powerful properties of nitrile rubber is its chemical resistance. It has excellent resistance to:

 ● Water
  ●Alcohol
  ● Synthetic oil
  ●Solvents
  ● Silicone grease
  ● Hydraulic fluid
  ●Propane
  ● Butane
  ● There is a wide variety of fuels, from aromatic and non-aromatic petroleum to aliphatic and aromatic jet fuels

In addition to a range of chemical resistance, nitrile has other desirable physical properties that contribute to its versatility and popularity. Nitrile rubber can operate in temperatures as low as –40ºF, withstand temporary drops as low as –70ºF, and heat up to 210ºF to 250ºF, withstanding temporary increases in excess of 250ºF.
Nitrile rubber also has a hardness rating of 40 to 90 Shore A, a very low compression set value, a high tensile strength of 200 to 3,500 PSI, and an elongation of 300 to 650%.

Best for automotive and other oil-resistant die-cut gasket applications
These properties and physical properties make nitrile an excellent choice for high-stress and oil-resistant applications, including:

 ● Cars
 ● Engine
 ● Fuel system
 ● Ships
 ● Petrochemical

Due to its high petroleum resistance, nitrile seals and connectors excel in oil and gas industry applications, such as oil refineries and drilling platforms.
